Term Intensives
A Term Intensive is a time of renewal, a time of experimentation, a time to explore and extend our practice.
We usually hold one or two Term Intensives each year, in the spring and autumn. Each one is 3 - 4 weeks long, and the main purpose of the Term Intensive (or TI for short) is to provide a supportive structure for people who would like to extend or renew their Dharma practice or make changes in their daily life. We each look at our own lives and see what feels in need of shoring up or cutting away, and then to make our TI commitments accordingly.
If your life feels just too crowded, what might be cut out of it, to allow for more space?
If your daily practice is shaky, what would help to make it more solid?
In what ways do you dream of changing habitual ways of thinking, talking, eating, or working?
Make a TI pledge
A core part of TI is the pledge or committment we make. Once you have decided on your pledge, make a note of what you plan to do and sign-up for the TI. The first session of each TI includes a simple opening ceremony where we read our TI commitments out to each other, so bring your pledge along to the first session. If you won’t be at the opening ceremony your pledge can be read out for you.

Show up each week
There will be short weekly group meetings held over Zoom on Wednesday evenings, which give participants a chance to report on how their TI is going and hear from other people. This part of the TI is what gives it some fibre – we are each accountable to the whole group, and our efforts support and encourage each other. If you can't make one of the meetings, send an email report to the TI leader ahead of the meeting.
