9:30 Dharma Talk on The Three Treasures and discussion groups
10:30 Tea break (morning tea provided)
11:00 Zazen: 3 x 35-minute rounds of sitting with kinhin in between
(Roshi will be offering dokusan)
1:00 Lunch (BYO or buy locally)
1:30 Qigong
1:45 Review of walking meditation (kinhin)
2:00 Zazen: 3 x 35-minute rounds of sitting with kinhin (walking meditation) in between
(Sensei will be offering dokusan)
4:00 Chanting service to end the day
Reminder: BYO lunch, dinner and yoga mat
This is a one-day sitting suitable for beginners, as well as for people needing to renew their sitting practice, or to make a fresh start in their lives. Solid blocks of zazen with dokusan (one-to-one with the teacher), interwoven with the body-mind disciplines of yoga, qigong and yoga nidra (deep relaxation), led by Ven. Hanya Gallagher.
